My son, who is pretty good mechanically, took it apart & ran it thru his ultrasonic cleaner. He apparently didn't poke thru the jets, though, to clean them. I'll probably have to take a look at it myself, to be sure. I was kind of surprised to see so much of the exterior paint still on the carb, after the ultrasonic -- would've figured that'd get stripped off. At that point, I wasn't super-involved yet with getting the tiller running.
I'll try to find some diagrams for the carb, now that I know the rebuild kit number (thank you!), but as a relative novice to carb work, what's the load jet, and how does splitting the carb before removing it mess it up? I'll definitely be careful with that.
Also -- is that tube going from the boot under the air cleaner to the updraft tube some kind of PCV thing to burn crankcase blowby? If so, would that place the date of this tiller sometime in the 1970's, after emissions stuff started on cars?
