We get paid by the mile and a set run. Do the same thing everyday of the week.
Guys that have a layover as part of their run get paid 2 cent more a mile and the company pays for the motel.
Teams (2 drivers in a truck that never stops) get 4 cents more per mile.
We never load or unload a trailer so dont deal with that but we get paid extra by the hour if we break down or we got to shuffle trailers around ect. Some companies even pay the driver for time spent fueling the truck.
