Ya want wider rims then ya make them wider . I need a band made i run down to a small town S.W. of me and tell them i need a band X inches wide for a 38 inch rim and pick them up the next day. Always add about 1/4 inch to the width ya want to make up for the torch cut and grinding . Take a center punch to the rim and mark both sides of the cut , that way when ya line the punch marks back up your fit up is a lot easier if your cut got off . I split the rims on my S/MTA and put a 4 inch band in them for a 16 wide rim and mounted 16.9x38 Stones on it . back then the bands were 35 bucks . Ran a hot low feed pass on the inside for a flatter bead and no grinding and a med heat with a medium build up on the out side
