Assuming it is that SelectoSpeed transmission, they were pretty much the first power shift tranny.
If its working, great. They were a fairly handy good tranny.
But, they do wear out, and when they do there are 3 separate clutches, and extra parts, in there. They can turn into a money pit when they break. Not as many experienced mechanics with them any more, and some parts are getting hard to find.
So, not scaring you away but do check out that tranny that it is in good shape. Generally an SoS brings less money at a sale, because buyers are scared its bad and expensive to fix.
