One of my old tractor pulling friends lives in Paola,KS and was at the sale...Hes 86 years young and still pulls antiques..He also collects antique tractors...I once purchased a 25-40 Allis from him...Back in the 1980's he pulled a national level Massey 55 Mod with a V-12 Allison...Here he is at the Indy Super Pull in Indiana about 37-38 years ago..Gene built that tractor for $7,000 in the late 1970's..A V-12 Allison alone now sells for 15-20K if you can find one..Gene was distantly related to the late 82 year old owner of the sale items....
Going school hunting with me would be fun if you enjoy long days with few stops...I usually cover lots of territory using my DeLorme Gazetter for the state I'm in..All roads are shown and I have the original locations for all the old schools marked in it...I also take pictures of old houses, barns,bridges,tractors,vehicles,etc..Tomorrow I'm headed back to Polk County MO for a picture taking trip..A week ago Saturday a picture taking trip there got cut short because the right front brake caliper on my 1991 Ford Ranger went to sticking on almost locking the brake up...I made it home and put a new one on and it worked great on Saturday..
