I have had metal flake off several times and cut me and even penetrate my skin. One piece cut thru my shirt and into my arm. Got it out myself. I also had a trip to Urgent Care to have a piece removed. He had to use my magnet to pull the metal out after he cut the wound bigger! And I got a stitch. ALWAYS wear safety glasses. I once made a chisel out of Cummins head bolt. I heated and soaked the tip in oil, and ground the tip to a chisel edge, heated and re soaked in oil again. Worked real well and never faked off. Mark.
