Well it would have to be in the bypass sticking closed or Blocked since the pump is DUMB and does not know how to stop pumping . Now i am no expert on the N 14 as i have never worked on one of them but worked on the older 855's . I have only had two engines that would blow and oil filter apart and both were F E fords , one was my first build when we did something off the wall and needed higher oil pressure and the other was a new 69 Ford Shelby G T 500 just off the truck when i was working at a Ford dealership . I was working on the two drag cars on a Saturday morning getting them read for and all Ford Meet and the only one in the service dept as we were closed on Saturdays , The owner came out and asked if i could do a quick detail on this New Shelby as his daughter wanted to drive it . It was already in the service dept and setting in a lift bay So no big deal i'll do a quick fluid check check the tire pressure check and make sure the wheels don't fall off of it and do a fast engine set as to Ing. timing and carb set . I had done all the engine off checks when little miss WITCH came out and told me she wanted it to RUN and to set it up TO RUN Ok fine this will take a little longer and i get well HURRY UP . So out comes the scope and get it all hooked up and i start the engine and all of a sudden she is screaming about all the oil running on the floor and i shut the car off and raise the car back up to se a FL1 A filter split open like a banana . So i put a new filter on and dumped in 6 qt.s and tried again only to have it blow . the bypass on the pump was stuck closed . and on a Mustang with a 428 you were not just dropping the pan for a quick fix . Little Miss Witch did not get her GT 500 convertible to drive for the weekend and had to settle for a Teebird. Somehwere i saw a post on this but i do not know where i saw it at. I am lucky on the fact if i have a Cummins problem i can call and old friend and ask him as he was Service manager at the Cummins dealer not far from me and now has his own shop . Look on the net as i am sure i saw something on this .

Today's Featured Article - The Day Mom Drove the 8N - by Brian Browning. My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
