I bought my IH 986 tractor in the fall of 1995 from a Case IH dealer. The purchase price was 11,500 dollars and put down 2,500 dollars. The remainder was financed for 5 years in quarterly payments. The tractor had 3300 hours on it when I bought it and I am the second owner of it. I bought a used car during 1981 and remember the interest rates being in the teens. Hind sight says I should have bought something cheaper. The first thing I bought in terms of farm equipment by myself was a new gravity wagon and gear. Bought the package from an AC dealer and used AC financing.
