Got the old 620 out to make it do a little work hauling manure. This tractor belonged to my Cousin who lost his life about 30 years ago at the age of 34. He and I were like Brothers. Just before that, he sold the 620 to an older neighbor who piddled with it for tbe last 30+ years. The old neighbor died about 7 years ago, so it has mostly sat for the last few years. The old fellow had a son who would start it every time he came home, but it had not been started for 2 or 3 years. The son called me to see if I wanted it, and I brought it back home.
Ran about 3 loads and I was having trouble with gunk in the fuel tank. The tank is fairly clean, but just enough I guess to cause trouble. After the 3rd load and having to mess with the sediment bowl each time, I parked it in the shop and grabbed the Case 730. It runs great and was also a different old neighbors.
Spread about 15 loads with the 730, and then hooked the Percherons up to pull it for the last 2 loads. I don't have them trained to stand, and I loaded the 1st load with the tractor befor I hooked them up. Spread it and then forked the 2nd load on the spreader. 1 load was enough after forking the wet hay and manure on by hand. Still have 3 or 4 loads left to do tomorrow if possible.
