Very unique machine built with purpose. I posted several photos for different perspectives.
Purpose of build was for a slow speed deep rototiller back in the 1960s for asparagus and other truck garden situations. The farm was not pleased with any commercial built rototiller so they built one.
Power layout, the olds v8 and automatic drive a rear axle behind the cab that powers the actual rototiller. Now it gets interesting. The hydraulic pump on front of crankshaft drives the hydraulic motor on front of the 5 speed trans to the left of the v8. There is also a flow control valve inside the cab. So with the flow control valve and 5 speed trans, ground speed can be tailored to each job. And full power transmitted to the tiller.
Machine performed better then expected and several decades later, still in use on home property as well as custom tilling for others
