Yeah, it seems counterintuitive that burning a pound of gasoline should generate about three pounds of CO2, but not if you remember high school chemistry. The weight of gasoline is almost all carbon (atomic weight 12); the hydrogen (atomic weight 1) doesn't contribute much mass because the carbon is so much heavier. Each mole of carbon mates up with two moles of oxygen (atomic weight 16, heavier than carbon) with the resulting CO2 weighing about three times as much as the original gasoline.
True, adding ethanol changes that a bit, but E10 is 10 percent alcohol MAXIMUM, so it doesn't significantly change the result.
