The Ruger American Ranch rifle shares nothing with the Ruger Mini 14 Ranch except possibly the caliber.
The early ones were really cheaply made but the newer models are much better. Back when they came out in 2011 they were competing with the Savage Axis model for the cheapest gun off the shelf - both have made great improvements since then. The Ranch is a later version and people I talk to think the Ruger Americans are great - especially with their adjustable trigger. I have a Ruger American 17HMR, not the same but similar to its big brothers.
