Rachel, a machine you will probably want to include in your report is the Hart-Parr 30-60, commonly called 'Old Reliable'. This was the first mass-produced tractor in the U.S. manufactured by the first tractor plant in the U.S. owned by Hart-Parr. This is definitely a company you will want to mention in your report. Charles Hart and Charles Parr met at the University of Wisconsin in the 1890s and conducted studies in their area of interest-internal combustion engines. Their successful research led to a business partnership: Hart-Parr, the first successful tractor manufacturers. I can provide you with more information should you like it on Hart-Parr and their important contributions to the tractor industry in the U.S. which revolutionized American agriculture forever. Otherwise, there should be information at larger libraries on the achievements of these two men and the company they started.
