those jobs are never coming back. during WW2, kids like my father and uncles left the farm. the government trained them as welders, machinists, electricians and other skills. the government tooled up, and built factories. after the war there was a highly skilled labor force and a abundance of production capacity. slowly the factories and machine tools got old and obsolete. the skilled work force got old. and retired. it was cheaper for the companies to go overseas. i don't feel the large companies of today are willing to make the investment and build the new factories, retool and train people.
