Well, I spent about 15 minutes composing a response and when I finished there was a site problem and it disappeared so will try again, with some editing. Two towns, one the county seat, one next county south 15 miles both had several farm dealerships. Some I remember were: John Deere, which we most frequented, MM, AC, Ford, Case, IHC, Oliver, MH. There is also a very small town only 5 miles from us that had a MM dealership and they sold lots of tractors, mostly LP. I think it closed in the early 70's. The earliest memories of Dad making purchases were; a Case thresher (new) in the early 40's, a JD tool bar (chisel), in the mid 1950's, and a JD model 55 combine in 1950. The last thing I remember was a new JD 730 diesel tractor in 1959, and a used JD 830 diesel in 1967.
