Another thing about snow blowing, light fluffy snow blows MUCH easier than wet HEAVY snow does. PTO speed of 540 BARELY throws wet snow, just getting the PTO speed to 650-750 works well on wet snow, and why I switched my shaft to 1000. When compared to silo filling blowers, most 540 RPM blowers have a 56 inch fan, 1000 RPM blowers have a 40 inch fan. so WHY do 540 RPM snow blowers have the smaller 26 inch fan?? No wonder they plug easily in wet snow. With the AC 7040 on 1000 PTO, I can throttle back a little which HELPS slow ground speed, run the blower about 750 RPM, and shift up/down the power shift as light/heavy snow enters the blower. Faster fan speed does need more power though, but the snow REALLY FLIES out the spout if power is there.

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
