Well I bought my first Honda a couple of years ago. I needed something a 6'5 and 5'2 person could drive, carry a decent amount of groceries and get into a hospital/doctor's office parking space. Found a little 2009 Honda Element with 110k mi. Like a new car and the little 2.4 liter engine really makes it scoot. I hear they are good for 250k before you have to worry about anything. I understand that Mr. Honda gets it right before he puts his name on it.
On why your parts were oversized, i suspect Metric to SAE conversions and how far out the mfgr. carries the decimal could matter; could be the culprit in some parts. Part number correct? Rust or some kind of damage to place where part mounts?
