No tank liner works if applied over anything beside bare steel. As they said prep work is of utmost importance. That being said there is differances in materials too. 20 years ago I lined two tanks with Eastwood's materials and followed the instructions to a tee. Was expensive and time consuming but was done in 1999 and 2000 and they still look like the day I did them. Later I tried Redcoat because it cheaper, available locally and the instructions state much less prep work needed. All of my Redcoat jobs failed early, 4-5 years and I am certain that it's not the fault of the actual liner material but in short cutting the cleaning process that Eastwood prescribes.
