In my college years I use to plow and salt the LI Expressway, we had 10 wheel dumps with a tailgate spreader on the back--it hooked over the tailgate and the salt flowed thru the little shoot in the middle--so you had to raise the body to get the salt to flow--a little too high and all the salt would break loose and flip the body all the way up only way to get it down was to pick up speed and slowly apply the brakes to get the body down---and then with all the overpasses that was a problem too
