I have had a commercial license since I was 18. THe physical is the same,in my case it is every year,I have diabetes. If you let your physical expire your cdl reverts to a standard license. THe card he was trying to remember is a TWIC card,if you need one you will know it when you can't deliver somewhere. It is for companies that have docks. My company pays for the fingerprints and the physical,because of the diabetes I have to have an eye test that I pay for. I have never seen what the big deal is,know your stuff and take the test.
