A number of good heavy duty LED flashlights have come on the market in the past couple years. Nicest ones have aluminum cases, one LED, and focusing magnifier lenses. Very bright white light. Depending on size may carry 6 or more AA batteries. Bought one today with 12 batteries. Heavy, but should take a beating. Extermely bright. These lights have become my tool for tracking blood trails at night. Earlier this fall I was tracking with a buddy who had a not quite so bright light and the color was warmer, almost shading on yellow. May have been a conventional bulb. He had me turn off my light, as his light showed up the blood much more vividly.
Got me to thinking, any of you have a particularly good light for tracking? What color is the light?
