Spent a lot of hours on the neighbor's 2N as a kid. I never found the LH brake too be much of a problem. Used the brake for turns or wheel slippage and when you had to stop, stepped on the RH brake and the clutch. When the clutch was depressed fully, it activated the LH brake as well.
