Closed center (of all makes i think) are not the same in valving, pumps, or basic design. An open center system is going to be dead headed into a plugged return. This creates a forced bypass of the relief valve dragging down the engine, and making heat very quickly. Be aware they are not the same animal. If it really is a closed system, and it is connected incorrectly, it needs to be carefully setup as a closed system, not just blocked with a plug. Research the tractor with notation of serial number breaks where Open or closed systems were changed. Jim
