Our M was the dedicated loader tractor to scrape the free stall barn everyday when the dairy cows were here. It also had two 55 gallon drums full of concrete as ballast to in part plow the driveway in winter. Every now and then when the dairy cows were here it would wind up on the forage blower.
I was told many years ago by a fertilizer salesman who originated in the Midwest that having a dedicated corn picker tractor was a sign of prestige out there. If you really were high and mighty you also had a a dedicated cultivator tractor plus dedicated loader tractor. A few farms but far from many had enough tractors during any given season that once the hitch pin was in place that tractor stayed on that implement until the season changed.
