When my 9 year old nephew had cancer, to the point that the Dr's at KU Med Center told my Brother he likely wouldn't make it through the night at one point, he not only survived, but has been cancer free for close to 20 years. The Dr's told my Brother that the reason kids have a good chance of beating it, is that they don't really have a concept of life and death, and so it is easier for them to have a pure 100% attitude they will beat it. The Dr's said that keeping a positive attitude that you will beat it can help as much as medicines. KU is a premier cancer hospital.
