300U 350U have a light in that location. Putting it on a Farmall would make it tough to get on on the left side, and the PTO leaver is on the right. If you are in restoration mode, it could br hammered out, and be OK, but if just using it it could have an LED light attached, and be put on the left side forward, making it less of a climbing hazard, and useful.
