In my area a driver would get in trouble if they didn't make delivery of a package that was on the truck. It might be different if it was something you had to sign for. My son worked for then for a while and sometimes he would have to attempt delivery 3-4 times before he was able to succeed. It's one of the reasons he quit. He as paid a salary for what should have been eight hours work but it always took him 12 to 14 hours to get everything delivered.
