I just wanted to explain a little something.
DeJoy is claiming to save money by eliminating overtime. Fine and good. However the system was designed to run on overtime. The office I worked at had 56 routes. however we only had 51 assigned carriers. Thinking being that mail volume very rarely will be at the maximum amount for all the routes.
Super would take the empty route and assign an hour or so to any carrier whose volume was under standard. This results in overtime quite often. Cheaper to pay time and a half than to pay an entire employees salary and benefits
Dejoy also demanded that trucks leave on time. Truck schedules are always a problem. Traffic weather, carriers returning late, whatever.
The mission of the business is to deliver mail. that can't be done if the trucks are dispatched no matter with mail still coming in off the street
