Alternative theory #1: The creator of this hitch has had his hitch stolen in the past. Nobody is going to steal a wooden hitch.
Alternative theory #2: The creator of this hitch lives in a state where it is "illegal" to leave a hitch in your truck when not connected to a trailer. This is a protest.
