Bob, it's a JD 4420 about 1981 vintage if I read the serial number right. If I remember right it only had 1100hrs. on it when we got it. Looked up some pictures, we've had it 9 years now.
That picture is from the day it arrived here. It's not that clean looking now! I've had to replace too many bearings from the wash job it had! I may take a bucket and rag to it some warm day though to give her a little sprucing up.
This picture is from 5 years ago combining oats. This picture was taken same day the guy that owned the farm where I just finished corn at past away. While I was combining that day I kept thinking of him wishing he could come over to see us in the field. He and my dad went to school together in the old one room school house just off the edge of his farm. Was a big loss to the area and to my dad, they had been friends for over 80 years. That was one reason I started helping him out and picked up a few extra acres for our operation.
