Reminds me of the 1600 gas that my brother-in-law had. It was had a cracked manifold that he had repaired - twice. Suggested to him when he got it (cheap) with the bad manifold, he should just get a different one. He figured it was less expensive to get it welded up. After the second time welding didn't work, he finally got discussed & found a good used one. Turned out, it was less expensive than either then the weld jobs. It was a good tractor, but those horses the 1600 had under the hood were thirsty. If I remember correctly, it had a high-low-direct hy-dra-drive in it.
