Mike, What speed are you running the engine when mowing? You should be at full throttle, or very close to it. (I did a service call on a combine one time that the owner complained about the poor efficieny of the NEW machine, and he was running the engine at half throttle.) Also be sure to readjust the front of the blade lower, (mower power requirement will be lower to run.) Like stated in other posts, be sure belts and pulleys are in good shape, and underside of mower is clean and blades are sharp and correct blades are installed. Happy holidays.
