Few years ago I was setting at a relative's house by their front window chatting when we saw a neighbor hauling corn go up the road from a nearby piece. Had the wagon a touch overloaded, and a bit of corn was blowing off the top and landing at the edge of the road. About 5 minutes later, we see another neighbor's free-range chickens--about 20 of them--coming up the road pecking away at the spilled corn. Went right by the house, up the hill next to it, and out of sight. Must have run out of spilled corn not far over the hill, as about 10 minutes later, here came the whole flock back down the hill, pecking away at whatever they'd missed on the way up, and back to their owner's place, apparently glad for the "bonus" lunch!
