For years my dad and I used to change screens when going from grain to hay. In later years I found that the oats were broken up enough just by going through the big hole hay screen so I never changed again. Just as well because the grain screen was worn so thin it was almost worn out. I do the same on this replacement IH mill. It has a screen with big square holes for hay and straw. I use it for oats and they are just fine. No need to grind them up into flour for cattle feed.
