When I worked in an Avionics shop in the Marine Corps, another fellow in the shop was overhauling the gearbox on a radar antenna from a jet fighter plane. It was rather complex, with about a dozen small gears.
He had all of the gear laid out in order for reassembly, and went on a coffee break. Me being a smart alec, I added a gear into his row of gears.
He worked for an hour before he figured it out, and by then I wasn't about to own up to it. He was seriously ready to punch someone out. He never did find out it was me.
