I just did a Farmall Cub engine this past winter. The machine shop bill for boring the cylinders, turning the crank, installing new valve guides, grinding the valve seats, and re-installing the camshaft was a bit over $900. (I delivered the block with crank removed but valves and cam were still in place.) Parts including pistons/rings, rod bearings, main bearings, gaskets, etc was about $500. My labor was free. I believe an 8N uses sleeves instead of a bored block so that might change the rebuild cost somewhat but this would give you a ballpark figure.
