AI is a great tool. You can afford proven genetics you could not afford using a bull. It also gives you a calf unrelated to your bull so he does not need to be replaced as often for interbreeding issues. The dairy industry would not be as advanced in genetics as it is today without AI. The race horse industry has fought AI for years to keep stud fees up.
