The box under the dash you mention is just a connection center for power windows, doors, seats, brake controller etc.
The fuse box you are looking for has a triangle shaped cover on the drivers side of the dash board, you will see it when you fully open the drivers side door, cover will be the same color as the dash and will have a detent finger grab molded into it.
