Fortunately I have for the most part learned that lesson early enough to save myself a lot of grief.
I completed my 70th trip around the Sun earlier this week and I've been slowly but surely changing my ways since about 60. Turn down jobs that are too hard on the ol' bod, get help with the ones I can't avoid and I'm MUCH more willing to sign a check and pay somebody else to do things I used to do for myself.
Other than glasses and hearing aids, I'm all OEM. I know far too many people with artificial joints and various other debilitating ailments that are younger than I am.
Of course, being male, I still do something stupid often enough to remind me that I'm not a teenager any more. Or even middle-aged for that matter...
