Bret, I'm running Firefox 81.0.2 on Linux. I have no problem opening that URL, whether I go to another site first or open it from an empty tab. The bookmark I use is "http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/boards.cgi", which is the URL for "classic" YT. So I don't know what's causing your problem.
So you can't open the forum URL even from a BLANK page? (Go to Edit->Preferences->Home and set New Windows and Tabs to "Blank Page".)
