I have a 706 Farmall with a 263 gas engine. I went to check the timing today. The engine is cold blooded, so I warmed it up first. I connected my timing light to the tractor, when I tried to run up the throttle up it sputter a little and at 2300 RPM really ran rough. When I looked at the front of the engine with timing mark and light, the engine timing was jumping around. it seeemed like once it was 22 degrees , then it would not go above about 10 degrees. Is my advance mechanism not working or hanging up? Thoughts Please. Thanks
