I agree. Constantly working land down fine destroys soil structure. No-till works very well where summer fallowing was the norm 30 years ago. It saves moisture and preserves the soil. We still do some tillage on our farm on the SD/MN border, but we no longer plow things black. No-till won't work very well in wetter areas with lots of clay, but most of western SD went to no-till and they are producing much better crops because of it.
