Ahem. There is not one word in the constitution that says SEPERATION of church and state. The wording is more like "Congress shall make no law..."
The spirit of this amendment was so that there would be no "state religion" like the Church of England. Over the years, the SCOTUS has misinterpreted that statement to mean separation.
Meanwhile, over the courthouse entrance and in the courtroom it says "In God We Trust" as well as on our money.
