I've handloaded for a standard model M1A years ago. IMR 3031, forget the grains now, would have to find one of my labels or in a friends manual.
I used 130 grain hollow points. I was surprised at the groups, was very accurate. I figured there should be some trial and error 1st. 150 Grain Federal Soft Point (Powershok) factory ammo gives excellent groups and these are highly effective on whitetail.
I think he needs the semi auto die too, I had to use care to fit my casings, was concerned about "out of battery" scenario.
What's your opinion on IMR 3031 for re-loading for an M1A ?
