Great story. My great grandpa farmed with a distallite burning W9 then traded it in for a WD9. The hand clutch is mostly what you see on them around here. Hardly ever see a foot clutch. Even the newer ones had hand clutches like 650s and I even know were there is a 660 with a hand clutch.
