Most dogs have been bred to not be killers. Only in the past 50 years or so have the mean dogs been allowed to live.
And stuck for life on the end of a chain or passed on to the next sucker to deal with the problem.
Go visit any animal shelter and the majority of inmates are some sort of pitbull. What does a no-kill shelter do when it is plum full of unwanted dogs? They refuse all new comers to become abandoned, tossed out of the car along a dark road, or worse.
A no-kill shelter sounds good until filled up. Then it does no good as the mentally bad are perpetuated into the world.
