I have done several of these conversions. I posted pictures of the one I did on my 8N and it touched off a whole page of arguments from how great it was to it causing the end of the world. So here we go again; it won't wear out the steering box any more than using muscle power to horse your tractor around and it uses virtually no electrical power going straight ( my charging system hasn't gone China Syndrome and there is hardly an increase in charging amps after a heavy turn). You may notice that you'll get the most detailed Doomsday advice from those who have never done a conversion. Let the battles begin.
