Not a lot to go wrong with a grease gun.
I've had them from name brand to Chinese cheap, and never worn one out!
The most common problem is air pockets in the grease cartridge. Just have to be ready to bleed it when it stops working.
The best method I've found is to take the hose off, hold my finger over the hole as a check valve, and full stroke pump the handle until grease comes out.
I never tighten the hose, just hand tight so it can easily be removed to bleed it.
