If I gathered enough cigarettes I could cash them in on a Cupy doll. Spelling. Rather than wait to collect a carton I got a crumpled pack of non-filtered camels. In great fear my hand trembled as I handed my father the pack of cigarettes. He lit one up ,took abig breath, and without hesitation said to us, if you smoke in the barn I will beat you within an inch of your life. And then walked away.Did we ever smoke in the barn? No I dont think so. And thats how I remember it. CM
