Back in the 40's grandpa hired his baling done.Grandpa mowed and raked with Ford 2n and later an 8n. The guy that did the baling had an Allis roto baler and a Case DC.
In the 70's my dad had a John Deere A, Farmall M and WD9. On the flat ground he used his John Deere A on his Massey no.3 baler. On the hill side the A would run out of poop. Dad used his WD9 on the hill. In 1974 dad bought an Allis Chalmers WD45 diesel for the baler. The Allis had no problem going up the hill. The Farmall M was sold and the John Deere was the mowing tractor from them on.
